Benson supplies new containers for Copperpot sweets

- Skillet and petal cartonboard container designs for different flavors of fudge and honeycomb
- Much of printed packaging exported to US, Mexico, Australia and other international markets
UK-based folding carton converter and supplier Benson Group has worked with confectionery firm Copperpot Originals to supply new styles of cartonboard container for its products.
Located in St.Ives, Cornwall, Copperpot Originals started out making fudge for its family-owned shop in Cornwall, but the business soon started to supply other specialty retailers throughout the country, before overseas exports of fudge began.
Skillet and petal designs
Skillet-style packaging is being used for three product flavors: caramel and sea salt fudge, milk chocolate coated honeycomb and all-butter fudge.
Incada Excel 450 micron board has been used with a standard ink set, coupled with satin varnish and spot UV for a luxurious touch. Foil blocking highlights the Copperpot name on runs of 10,000 of the new style packs.
A petal top design (pictured, top) has been chosen for five further flavors: all-butter fudge, milk chocolate butter fudge, milk chocolate honeycomb, white chocolate honeycomb and caramel and sea salt fudge.
Again Incada Excel 450 micron board has been used with a standard ink set, coupled with satin varnish and spot UV. Foil blocking highlights the Copperpot name on runs of 10,000 packs of the petal top design cartons.
Products for export
Much of the final product produced is for export markets, including the US, Mexico, Japan and Australia.
Copperpot Originals Mark Brian said: ‘To compliment premium confectionery, our stylish packaging blends the classic heritage of the Copperpot brand with contemporary design – where the product is king.
‘We endeavor to use local suppliers wherever possible, and have forged a long-term partnership with a Cornish design agency – we think they’re great, and hope you agree too.’
