MPS reports successful EC launch at Labelexpo

During Labelexpo Americas, MPS launched its EC printing press, running the company’s Automated Print Control (APC) system.
‘Many visitors witnessed the new EC with APC, resulting in multiple orders,’ said the company in a statement. ‘For MPS, Labelexpo Americas 2010 was a great success.’
The machine displayed at the show was the new 8-color 16in (410mm) EC press, with APC, Crisp.Dot, iControl, print sleeves, short web technology and a converting rail. During live demonstrations, two different jobs with different repeat lengths were printed on an OPP white film with a thickness of 1.18 mil (30 micron).
In order to demonstrate its ease of operation, a hired presenter who had never operated a press before controlled the EC, uploading the print settings of each job using a wireless iPad (pictured). Next, he started the press at a speed of
APC is claimed to reduce set-up time for both initial jobs (calibration) and repeat jobs (job memory).
