Brazilian food cooperative Aurora is harnessing Tetra Pak’s new generation traceability solution to increase production efficiency and add brand value to a newly launched UHT milk product.

Aurora’s traceability solution is based on the latest version of the Tetra PlantMasterautomation system for processing equipment in the entire plant, in combination with PLMS Centre for the filling machines.  The solution is a data collection, integration and control system of food production in all its phases, including: raw material reception, processing, filling, quality control and distribution.  The information is accessed online by the industry and also by consumers, via a website.  The system also allows for diagnosing, solving and preventing problems with the use of an online tool that provides information in detail and crosschecks data throughout the processes.

‘Traceability is an essential tool for demonstrating credibility and engendering confidence with producers, customers, suppliers and consumers,’ said Mario Lanznaster, president of Aurora Coopercentral.  ‘It has now become a critical food safety indicator.  Aurora and its customers can now track foods from raw materials through to the final manufactured product and monitor the production process and control quality parameters in real time.’

The unique product ID is printed directly onto the package at the filling point and contains all the information about that specific unit.  This code identifies each single product by its ID number and provides its full history.
