Biaxplen makes major investment in production
Russia’s Biaxplen has made an investment in its production capacity with a new five-layer line in Novokuybyshevsk, which will be used to serve its growing export market.
Biaxplen, a daughter company of petrochemical company Sibur, already operates seven BOPP lines in Russia with a production capacity of 149,000t. This includes a new line commissioned in Tomsk in the last quarter of 2013.
The new five-layer layer BOPP line, with a capacity to produce 30,500t annually, will increase Biaxplen’s total annual production capacity up to 180,000t. Biaxplen said this will exceed the local market demand and contribute to the increase of export deliveries to CIS countries and Europe.
Biaxplen already exports across Europe to Italy, Germany, Poland, Spain, Greece, France, Turkey and to the Baltic states.
Biaxplen forecasts a particular increase in specialty films sales, including label films to both the local and export markets.
In May, Biaxplen will also take part in Interpack in Düsseldorf, Germany, where it will present its portfolio of films and new production capacities.
