Amonn installs Durst TAU G3 Core
The Italian converter is among the first to run the new digital press in full production.
Amonn Print Factory in Bolzano, Italy, has installed a Durst TAU G3 Core digital label press, reaching full production speed shortly after installation.
The TAU G3 Core prints at up to 80m/min, or around 60m/min with white ink, at 1,200 x 1,200 DPI, representing a 20 percent productivity increase over previous Durst technology. Reduced white ink consumption allows jobs to be transferred from older systems without significant workflow changes.
Christian Bortolin, general manager of Amonn Print, commented: ‘We are amongst the first companies to have chosen the Tau G3 Core. It is a high-performance machine that has delivered excellent results and is particularly well-suited to the food industry. The sector in which we specialize from a technical standpoint.
‘The new software is more intuitive, simple and easy to read, with a more appealing design. I must say I am extremely satisfied with this new machine. We are able to reach full production speed almost immediately. At maximum speed, the machine achieves very high productivity.
Arianna D’Arcangelo, production operator at Amonn Print, added: ‘I have been working with Durst machines for two years, and for the past three months I have been operating the new Tau G3 Core. I am very satisfied because the machine's ergonomics have been improved and designed with the operator in mind.’
The press incorporates Durst ARC (Automatic Register Control) and Durst MEP (Material Edge Protection) to maintain print stability and protect printheads during production. LED curing technology reduces noise levels and energy consumption.
‘The Durst ARC system is extremely helpful during production, because it keeps the roll stable and consistent,’ added D’Arcangelo. ‘The Durst MEP system protects the printheads from possible material defects, providing an additional level of safety and reliability. The new LED technology makes the machine quieter. The inks are more sustainable, an important requirement increasingly requested by our clients.’
