Sprite Labels makes double BGM investment

UK printer Sprite Labels has made a double investment in Bar Graphic Machinery (BGM) converting and finishing equipment, allowing it to assist a major customer with an order for blank labels.

'We were able to rescue our customer and have been so impressed with the machine that we ordered a second machine three weeks to the day of the first machine installation' - Sprite Labels managing director Tony Katsouris

Sprite Labels initially added a BGM Elite 370 to handle the production of blank labels for a customer, which had encountered issues with quality and service for a large order.

Sprite Labels managing director Tony Katsouris explained: ‘This was a serious customer of ours who was in real danger of losing important work and needed urgent support. We could do the job but it would put enormous pressure on our finishing, as we were already near to capacity. There was no time to lose so I made several phone calls, including one to Daniel Carr at BGM.

‘Right away I was impressed with Daniel’s down-to-earth, no nonsense approach, his confidence in his company's equipment and his obvious desire to help. His price was competitive and, what's more, he was able to supply references from several label companies we knew of and respected. I immediately felt I could trust Daniel, and so when he offered to build and deliver a new machine in an incredibly short time, I believed him.’

Elite 370 is a compact and robust free-standing label die-cutting machine, with rotary die-cutting speeds of up to 250m/min.

‘BGM pulled out all the stops to supply their Elite 370 easy load die cut and perforation station slitter rewinder in record time,’ added Katsouris. ‘There were no issues with installation or set-up and performance and quality has been 100 percent.

‘My call to BGM was one of the luckiest calls I ever made. We were able to rescue our customer and have been so impressed with the machine that we ordered a second machine three weeks to the day of the first machine installation.’

BGM managing director Annemarie Rhodes added: ‘BGM's mission is long-term partnership with successful label printers, to help them become even more successful through better converting and rewinding, better reliability, less down-time and through cost savings achieved by minimizing waste and saving energy, plus we're always happy to modify machines to suit customers' specific requirements.

‘We're delighted that Sprite Labels has joined the BGM family and look forward to collaborating with Tony Katsouris and his team for many years to come.’
