Global Paper Solutions (GPS), a North American distributor of paperboard and packaging material, and an affiliate of the Asia Pulp & Paper Group (APP), has revealed that Zenith Hi-Brite Premium has seen rapid sales growth of 255 percent since its introduction in 2012 and is now one of the company’s best-selling paperboard products.

APP Zenith Hi-Brite premium paper performs well in US market

APP's Zenith Hi-Brite provides a number of noteworthy specifications including 94 brightness, cost-to-yield advantage and high-quality design. This has resulted in sales growth of 255 percent since its introduction in 2012.

Zenith Hi-Brite is currently used throughout the packaging, converting and commercial printing categories for a wide array of segments, including consumer products, health and beauty, pharmaceutical, direct mail-postcards, brochures, magazine inserts, soft cover books and magazines, lottery tickets, toys, playing cards and games, frozen food, fast and dry goods, point-of-purchase (POP) and point-of-sale (POS), labels and label lamination for corrugated packaging.

Zenith Hi-Brite is provides efficiency and attractiveness in printing and finishing within the packaging sector. The distinguishing qualities include:

•   94 brightness, which allows for crisp reproduction of sophisticated and intricate graphics;

•   Blue-white: the product presents blue-white rather than the typical yellow-white products found in the US, which translates to a more authentic, sharper print quality, and critical for printed products featuring images of people, consumer electronics and food products that rely on printed packaging to entice consumers;

•   A 7-10 percent yield average; customers get a paperboard product that has a higher yield average as a result of APP’s layered board papermaking technologies. This allows packaging converters to save money by ordering less paperboard, which reduces waste, decreases overall unit weight of packaged goods, and directly reduces supply chain transportation costs;

•   FDA compliant/barrier technology; Zenith Hi-Brite is FDA compliant – making it suitable for food and pharmaceutical packaging – and it’s available with an added resistance barrier making it useful for fast food packaging applications that require grease resistance;

•   Surface treatment: surface-sized and double blade coated to eliminate surface dust, Zenith Hi-Brite allows for high print speeds that can result in 10-13 percent more print impression.

Rick Wachsler, head of GPP, said: ‘A combination of outstanding printability, cost-saving and flexibility is what our customers are demanding and what Zenith Hi-Brite delivers. A premium paperboard with these very specific attributes can be a differentiator in the marketplace. The quality of the product is evident in its growth, as this has become one of North America's fast growing paperboard products.’
