Soham Technologies has partnered with the UK’s Anilox Laser Technology to market and distribute the company’s nano technology anilox rollers in India.

Dilip M. Sawant, chief executive officer of Soham Technologies, said: ‘Nano technology in anilox rollers is a relatively new concept in India. It incorporates a cell geometry that allows maximum cell volume release while keeping the cell opening-to-depth ratio at a minimum. 
 
‘Our strategy is to get old anilox rollers from converters and get them refurbished from Anilox Laser Technology. We believe that once a converter is assured of the good quality refurbished roller, he will place a new order with us.’ 
 
Citing some of the benefits of these rollers, Sawant said: ‘They not only help reduce the downtime but also decrease the need for anilox cleaning. The cell structure allows better resistance to doctor blade marking. It enables printers to achieve high line count while still delivering high volume transfer.’ 
 
Another common issue experienced by narrow web flexo printers is ink spitting, and Sawant said nano technology anilox rollers can also offer the Ani-MAX cell structure to eliminate this issue with the open cell structure designed to allow the ink to flow between the cells instead of pushing against the doctor blade. 
 
Soham Technologies started in 2004 as a supplier of print consumables. Some other products in the company’s portfolio includes cold and hot stamping foils, doctor blades imported from Europe, DB end seals from Advanced Supplies in the UK, UV lamps from Western Quartz based in the US and Heraeus from Germany, and UV/IR lamps from Nanjing in China. 
 
Soham Technologies exhibited its products during Labelexpo India 2014, and Sawant said: ‘We received an overwhelming response during the show and look forward to participating in the next exhibition. We got several leads for various products we offer. Participation also helped us increase the brand visibility and we interacted with many industry professionals who now know about our business.’
