The label and package printing industry predicts what will be big in 2018
Nottinghamshire, UK-based converter Cresta Labels has installed a 6-color Centraflex 250 press from Focus Label Machinery.
The new press is to be used for self-adhesive labels on a range of substrates and was purchased in order to increase production capacity and improve print quality. In addition to a UV varnishing station, Cresta Labels’ Centraflex is equipped with standard dryers, which combine infra-red lamps with forced cold air, allowing faster drying speeds without heat build-up. The removable print cassettes can be interchanged, or removed from the press in a few seconds, allowing fast job changes and clean ups.
Richard Lloyd of Cresta Labels commented: ‘Our existing C.I. presses have served us well for many years, allowing us to build a financially strong family business. Despite the current difficult economic climate, we were confident that we should invest in new technology and drive the business forward with a positive outlook.
‘The Centraflex has proven to be the perfect choice for us at this stage in our development. It has all the sophistication of larger, more expensive presses, but still has a relatively short web path and remains a nice, compact design. More importantly, it has increased our productivity considerably, improving our efficiency and creating more capacity.’
‘The new press has enabled us to produce a higher quality of work, which in turn, is opening doors in new markets for us. The fact that Focus is located very close to us was a bonus, but we were always keen to support local British manufacturing and we liked the fact that Focus is a true engineering company – not purely an assembly plant.’
Focus sales manager Antony Cotton added: ‘We are delighted that Cresta Labels have chosen Focus to supply their new flexo press. We like to work closely with our customers, offering the best possible back up service, as we firmly believe that this is the basis for a strong future business relationship. In addition, we listen to the feedback from our customers and we continue to develop our equipment, making sure that we are able to offer the very latest technology to meet their requirements.’
