Colordyne adds entry-level in-line production printer

Colordyne Technologies has launched 2800 Series Mini Laser Pro, an entry-level machine designed to provide end users, private brands and in-plant printers on-demand digital label and tag production with in-line lamination and laser die-cutting capabilities.

2800 Series Mini Laser Pro is described as a ‘turnkey solution’ designed for entry-level and mid-volume label production

The 2800 Series Mini Laser Pro is described as a ‘turnkey solution’ designed for entry-level and mid-volume label production. It has been designed to allow printing, lamination and laser die-cutting of labels in a single pass.

Andy Matter, general manager of Colordyne Technologies, said: ‘Our customers are looking for a turnkey digital production solution at an affordable price point. So, we saw the opportunity to build a mid-range printing platform with flexible in-line finishing that complements our existing 3600 Series Laser Pro.

‘The 2800 Series Mini Laser Pro allows users of any size to improve their flexibility and incorporate variable data into a just-in-time business model, all while reducing costs incurred with traditional label production.’

The 2800 Series Mini Laser Pro print module uses a single Memjet printhead producing full color, CMYK graphics up to 8.77in (222.8mm) width. It runs up to 60ft/min (18m/min) with a claimed resolution up to 1600 x 1600 DPI. With the 2800 Series Mini Laser Pro's in-line finishing capabilities, users can protect the high resolution aqueous inks with lamination and create custom label shapes and sizes with laser die-cutting, resulting in greater flexibility and the ability to produce a broader range of applications, according to Colordyne.

The 2800 Series Mini Laser Pro can run in three separate modes: print and cut, print only and cut only.

Colordyne stated 2800 Series Mini Laser Pro eliminates waste and lead times for label orders, improves flexibility to support private branding and personalization strategies, and supports highly variable applications with just-in-time delivery.

Matter added: ‘It’s a production-grade solution allowing users to maintain the professional quality of their labels in-house and incorporate just-in-time label printing into their business. Users can print what they need, when they need it, all while eliminating the delays and waste associated with outsourcing. In-house digital print production is the best way for brands to build an affordable, flexible and responsive label production environment without needing to be a label manufacturer.’
