SATO America announces Label Gallery 3

SATO has released Label Gallery 3, its labeling software series. The latest version of SATO's Label Gallery software features two new software development kits, improved printing control, Unicode compliance, and Windows CE.NET support for mobile devices.
The Label Gallery 3 software series includes the cost-free edition 'Free', the basic edition 'Easy', the full version 'Plus' and the high-end solution 'TruePro', which is also offered in a pocket or a network version. New with Label Gallery 3 are two Developer Series offerings, including Label Gallery SDK for PCs and Label Gallery Pocket SDK for mobile devices. Label Gallery is now Unicode-compliant in all modules for multilingual label printing.
Pocket Label Gallery has been rewritten from scratch and built on the Windows CE.NET compact framework. The new version supports a wider range of mobile devices and allows for easier upgrades and modifications.
Other enhancements available in Label Gallery 3 include:
• New Label Galley Installer: Label Gallery software uses Windows Installer technology for product installation. One of the advantages is to be able to create MSI packages for unattended Label Gallery Network client installations using the Windows Group Policy.
• Licensing and activation enhancements: With Label Gallery 3, the ability to deactivate the Label Gallery software key is now available. This is particularly useful whenever you have to move the software to another workstation (single-user) or Network server installation (multi-user). The Label Gallery Network edition allows it to operate through Remote Desktop on Windows 2003 installations.
• Improved printing control: For printers that allow bidirectional communication with the GalleryDriver, users can review the printer status in real time. The new GalleryPrint Queue software module can be used to control printers and their print jobs on the local computer, and also allows users to move a print job from one printer spooler to another.
• The new label reprint feature also provides the ability to reprint labels to the same or a different printer. Label Gallery creates the proper print file for each printer using the data retrieved from the log file.
• Configuration module: The configuration options for different Label Gallery applications and modules have been merged into the new Configuration module so that the options for all applications can be set in one place.
• Improved design possibilities: Label Gallery 3 has new features which can improve label design such as support for variable label sizing, support of relative positioning of label objects, better support for handling of missing graphic objects, export the label as an image, image support for Binary Large Object (BLOB) database fields, and efficiency by storing the label template in the printer memory.
Label Gallery requires Windows Vista/XP/2003 Server or 2000, Pentium-based PC, minimum 128 MB of free RAM, 75-550 MB of available hard disk space, and a CD-ROM drive.
