Xeikon unveils advanced dry toner developments

Xeikon has unveiled its latest dry toner developments at Labelexpo Americas 2018. The new QB toner replaces QA-I and ICE toners for Xeikon 3000 series and Cheetah digital label presses. QB toner is now being shipped with all new label and packaging presses from Xeikon. Existing customers will be able to upgrade their presses in early 2019.

Xeikon is located in the Flint Group booth 728 in Hall A at the show.

‘As a leader in the development of dry toner technologies, Xeikon is always concerned with ensuring its dry toner products meet all regulatory requirements, including food safety,’ said Filip Weymans, Xeikon’s vice president of marketing. ‘Dry toner continues to be the preferred technology for food-save digitally printing packaging, and Xeikon continues to monitor regulatory changes to ensure continued compliance, future-proofing these solutions. Many label printers are already using Xeikon digital presses for food-related applications, and this new QB toner will ensure they stay at the forefront of regulatory compliance. At Labelexpo Americas, we will also be celebrating our 30-year anniversary of dry toner research & development, an effort that will only continue to accelerate into the future.’

Xeikon QB toners are available in formulations that require high temperatures for fusing (QB-I) and lower fusing temperatures (QB-IC and QB-CH). These formulations are designed to be compliant not only with today’s regulations, but with emerging regulations as well. Xeikon has replaced or omitted compounds in these toners that are now allowed but may potentially be affected by future regulatory action. ‘We have also removed components from these new toners that could lead to misinterpretation, such as tin,’ Weymans added. ‘Visitors to our booth at Labelexpo Americas will get a first look at the new QB toners and gain insight into how it advances dry toner technology to the next level.’

Of Xeikon’s presence at the show, Weymans continued: ‘We’ll be unveiling our entry-level Xeikon 3030 based Label Discovery package, an entry-level label printing and converting solution that includes the Xeikon 3030 digital label press and the new entryDcoat, an in-line or off-line digital converting line. And we’ll also be demonstrating the Xeikon PX3000 UV inkjet label press, as well as the toner-based Xeikon 3500 and CX3 presses, offering visitors the ability to evaluate multiple technologies to determine what best meets their label needs. Xeikon label experts will be available throughout the show to speak with visitors about their business needs and provide technology-agnostic guidance as to the best possible solutions for profitability and business growth.’

At Labelexpo Americas, Xeikon is also participating in the American debut of Labelexpo’s Automation Arena, featuring the industry 4.0 automated self-adhesive digital label printing production process.
