Li Dagang wins China Label Industry Achievement award

Dagang’s career trajectory is closely intertwined with the development of China's self-adhesive label industry.

Li Dagang has won the 2025 China Label Industry Achievement Award. The award recognizes outstanding individuals who have made a lasting impact on the development of China's label printing industry; who serve as a benchmark for the industry’s pioneering spirit and a catalyst for the wider development of the label industry in China. 

This award recognizes the contribution of Dagang in development of the label industry in China throughout his 32 years of service in the label printing field, standing out as a role model admired by his industry peers. 

As a pioneer in the label printing industry, Dagang’s career trajectory is closely intertwined with the development of China's self-adhesive label industry.  

He first entered the industry in the early 1990s, and in 1993-94 participated in the Boston Consulting Group’s research project into China’s self-adhesive label industry, which laid the foundation for official recognition of the industry in China. From 1994 to 2014, Dagang worked at Avery Dennison, serving successively as vice president and general manager of Greater China and vice president of strategy for Asia Pacific. 

His 20-year tenure served as a benchmark for the first generation of professional managers in foreign-invested enterprises in China.  

Since 2014, Dagang has served as group vice president of, continuously driving the growth of the company and the wider industry.  

His career transformation from an elite manager of a state-owned enterprise to a core manager of a multinational company vividly reflects the gradual opening-up and maturity of China's label printing industry. 

Over 32 years dedicated to the industry, Dagang has made extraordinary contributions to the sector with his outstanding leadership, promotion of innovation, and a commitment to talent development.  

During his tenure at Avery Dennison, he integrated world-class technologies with local market demands, leading the company's vigorous business growth in China. After joining CCL Label China, he constructed a localized management team in China, while also continuing to introduce advanced foreign technologies and launch innovative solutions in self-adhesive labels, RFID, and other fields—efforts that have made CCL Label China a top-tier industry supplier and advanced the technological standards of the entire industry. 

At Avery Dennison China, Dagang was a driving force behind localization. He led his core team to promote the localization of glassine base paper and adhesives, supported the technological advancement of film and paper face stocks, pioneered technological innovation in the RFID field, build a local supply chain system, and collaborated with industry partners to enhance the international status of China's self-adhesive label industry.  

Notably, the Avery Dennison Label Innovation & Application Academy (LIAA) was established under his impetus in 2000 and has become a key bridge connecting the Chinese industry with leading edge global technologies. 

In addition to promoting industrial development, Dagang has devoted himself to cultivating talent, a cornerstone of sustainable industry growth. While leading Avery Dennison and CCL Label China, he comprehensively trained and nurtured local management and technical talent in areas ranging from lean production to business marketing. Today, these ‘disciples’ are scattered across China's, and even the global self-adhesive label industry, injecting a steady stream of vitality into the industry's development and establishing Dagang as a respected industry mentor.
