CS Labels reports initial success with Xeikon Cheetah
CS Labels has reported a positive start to life with its latest press investment, a Xeikon Cheetah.

CS Labels is one of the first in the world to install a Xeikon Cheetah, which was launched at Labelexpo Americas 2014. The UK’s Mercian Labels installed the world’s first, while Accu-Label recently became the first in the US to install one.
The Cheetah installed at CS Labels is already printing label jobs nearly 60 percent faster than before.
CS Labels is Europe’s largest printer to use Xeikon technology and operates five of its digital presses.
The company is constantly growing in capacity, turnover, profit and staff since it took the leap to become an entirely digital operation in 2007. Its client base includes major brand names in addition to thousands of other small to medium companies.
The Cheetah press will assist CS Labels in coping with growing demand and to assist growth, which is currently 25 percent year-on-year. It will also free up capacity on its other presses to pursue innovation and product development.
CS Labels managing director Simon Smith said: ‘There is increasing brand interest in digital and customers are not just looking at the cost of production, they are looking at how to use the technology to enhance brand value. Personalization, versioning, high quality effects, less wastage and speedy lead times are all made possible for companies large and small. Being able to quickly launch campaigns based on seasonality, geography, language and special events is all made possible and cost-effective by digital.’
CS Labels has recently expanded into the digital heat transfer and digitally printed flexible pouch markets, and has launched new wraparound-style peel and reveal labels.
‘It is not just about printing self-adhesive labels anymore,’ Smith added. ‘There are changes in the nature of the dialog we are having with customers. Brainstorming with them about the possibilities makes it really exciting.’
More on CS Labels will appear in Labels & Labeling, issue 3, 2015.
