Atlas to launch new CW technology in China

Atlas Converting Equipment will officially launch its new CW technology platform for Atlas primary and secondary slitter rewinders for film and flexible materials at Chinaplas 2012 in Shanghai, China on April 18-21.

Atlas said the new CW technology platform introduces the next generation of compact film slitting solutions from the company in web widths from 2.5-10.4m (98-410in) and delivers higher efficiency, increased productivity and reliability, higher quality rewind reels, reduced noise levels and more effective, operator-friendly control systems.

CW technology also features wireless rewind arm positioning, automatic knife positioning, direct drive web path rollers and running speeds of up to 1,500m/min. (4,920ft/min.) with more precise web tension control. Electrical cabinets are now fully integrated in to the machine to reduce the space required for installation with under floor service trenches also no longer required.

Atlas manufactures the Titan range of secondary slitter rewinders for flexible packaging materials, plastic film, labelstock, laminates and paper and fully automated, integrated roll handling systems. Titan now has more than 2,500 installations in over 80 countries.

The next generation of Titan SR9 series modular slitter rewinders was launched at the end of last year at ICE Europe, with the new Titan SR9-DT (dual turret) rewinder providing unsurpassed levels of slitting productivity, design modularity and rewind reel quality. New features include reduced power consumption and enhancements in sustainability showing respect for the environment.
