EPOS made option for Rotocontrol kit

Rotocontrol has announced that its electronic knife positioning system (EPOS) is now available as an option on all Rotocontrol RSC slitter rewinder, RSP single pass 100 percent security inspection and RSD modular die cutter units.
 
EPOS was initially unveiled at Labelexpo Europe 2011, held in Brussels at the end of September last year. The EPOS option fully automates the slitting set-up, reducing job change time to less than a minute according to Rotocontrol, even with shear systems using upper and lower blades.
 
Rotocontrol added that a choice of shear, razor or crush blades for use with any material and a placement accuracy of 0.15mm can provide hours of additional production time each day depending on the job profile. Programmed from the operator-friendly touch panel, the EPOS also features an isolated tension zone across the slitting blades.
 
German package printer Barthel GmbH ordered an RSC 440 web width slitter rewinder with EPOS after seeing the system debuted at Labelexpo Europe.
