TechNova launches SmartJet LP112 digital inkjet press

Built on Memjet’s patented single pass waterfall technology, the prototype of the press was launched at Pamex 2013. With a web width of 216 mm,the system can achieve a maximum print speed of 12 inches per second at 1600 x 800 dpi. At the highest print resolution of 1600x1600 dpi, the printer can print 6 inches per second. The press boasts 17,400 nozzles and a full length print head. Any inkjet coated media in the range of 60 to 300 gsm can be printed on this compact press in roll-to-roll or roll-to-sheet.

Swarnangka, chief operating officer, digital imaging solutions, TechNova said, ‘Flexo printers, prototyping label printers and traditional manufacturing companies are showing a lot of interest in this press. It has been successfully installed at some customers for beta testing. We are excited about this product and are getting good response at Labelexpo India.’

The press comes integrated with Nice Label pre-press software for variable data printing. The software enables customers to design labels and customize them before printing them on the machine. The complete package of the SmartJet and the software has been priced at sub Rs 10 lakh (£10,000). ‘It promises to be an unbeatable value for money to the target segment,’ said Swarnangka. 

On display is also a die-punching machine. Its features include die-punching and foiling. The customers, however, gets the option to add embossing, varnishing and lamination units to the equipment. Any media in the range of 50 to 300 gsm can be used on this machine. ‘We offer a wide range of customisable post-press solutions from our alliance partners, though SmartJet fits seamlessly with existing postpress capabilities,’ Swarnangka concluded.
