Benson Box chooses Heidelberg folder gluer

- Increase in the complexity of packaging designs and gluing work in last six months required investment for the future
- Benson Box predicting three-fold increase in output across the carton styles for which Diana X 115 folder gluer is targeted
Leading UK carton house, Benson Box, has ordered a Diana X 115 folder gluer for its Bardon plant, which specializes in food packaging.
‘We have seen an increase in the complexity of gluing work in the last six months,’ said Mike Owens, general manager of Benson Box.
‘This meant we had quite specific requirements. We took a range of jobs to Heidelberg in Germany, to check the Diana X 115 could achieve the required speed at the right quality level.’
The Diana performed well, and Benson Box also liked the Autoset and memory features that significantly reduce set-up times.
Three-fold increase
The company is predicting a three-fold increase in output across the carton styles for which this machine is targeted.
According to Owens, the company handles four-corner, six-corner and crash lock cartons, and the retail industry and its designers are spearheading the move to more complex packaging products, putting companies with the most modern equipment in pole position.
‘The Diana X 115 is a flexible and highly productive machine that produces high-quality results effortlessly, and its output will see us add a semi-automatic packing line at the delivery stage.’
