Emsur has installed eRS2T3, the latest sleeve seaming technology developed by Enprom to increase its productivity

The new machine, which features a nonstop 3-shaft turret rewinder is based on Enprom’s patented Smart Wheel innovation, a motorized roller solvent application system.

Emsur currently operates nine production plants in Europe, Asia and the Americas and has over 25 years of experience in the development and manufacture of premium flexible packaging focused on for food products. The eRS2T3 will replace one of its sleeve machines at its Madrid plant in Alcalá de Henares.

The eRS2T3, which features a nonstop 3-shaft turret rewinder is based on Enprom’s patented Smart Wheel innovation, a motorized roller solvent application system. It is driven by eight servo motors and includes two independent tension controls on both the unwinder and rewinder to avoid errors and alterations in the width of the labels.

Designed to perform splices at 500m/min (1640ft/min), the time required to perform a reel discharge cycle is reduced by almost 50 percent and can be controlled by a single operator. In addition, the eRS2T3 includes advanced ergonomics and provides an increased focus on safety, incorporating an infrared optical barrier to safeguard operators.

This latest development is also claimed to improve productivity, increase efficiency, quality and reduce operating cost and waste by more than 15 percent.
