SWST installs Thunder Laser

South Western Specialised Tapes (SWST) invests in a laser cutting and engraving machine, to further diversify its products and services portfolio.

SWST is now able to engrave and cut tesa labels

The latest addition to the range of production line, the Thunder Laser cutter and engraving machine, allows SWST to satisfy increasing customer enquiries for finished laser engraved products.

In the recent years, SWST has been working closely with tape manufacturer tesa, offering their products to label converters.

‘There were many enquiries for small amounts of material or for finished labels, so we decided to stock material and sell it by the meter, then offer in-house production of labels to those clients who don’t have the machinery time or expertise to do it themselves,’ said Howard Burr, managing director at SWST.

SWST said that opening internal label printing division enables rapid turnaround without printing plates or cutters. It also expects to see a significant growth in demand for small runs of bespoke labels resistant to environmental factors, tamper evidence and elevated heat resistance.
