Esko integrates Esko Color Engine with Fiery Impress
This co-developed workflow software gives inkjet press manufacturers a DFE designed to meet diverse customer color needs.

Esko and Fiery, developer of digital front ends (DFEs) and workflow software, has confirmed that Esko Color Engine is now integrated with the Fiery Impress DFE for industrial printing.
This co-developed workflow software gives inkjet press manufacturers a DFE designed to meet diverse customer color needs. With Fiery Impress, manufacturers can offer their customers the choice of Fiery color technology or Esko Color Engine, enabling seamless integration into existing packaging workflows. This flexibility helps manufacturers differentiate their presses and deliver greater value to customers by ensuring consistent, brand-accurate color across both analog and digital production.
Esko’s color management technology enables packaging producers to manage color consistently across an entire plant, spanning both analog and digital presses. With the integration of Esko Color Engine, Fiery Impress can fit seamlessly into existing Esko workflows, so customers never have to choose between maximum performance and accurate color. From brand design files prepared in Esko prepress tools to output on a Fiery Impress–driven digital press, customers benefit from a predictable, end-to-end color workflow across their entire operation. Fiery Impress also offers scalability, with automation and performance features that adapt as business needs evolve.
Fiery Impress’ streaming performance for complex VDP files, along with easy JDF integration with other systems, lets industrial press manufacturers offer customers the power they need for a wide range of applications, from simple labels to high-end custom packaging. Fiery Impress’ streamlined development and integration process, designed for quick incorporation into new press designs, brings press manufacturers faster time-to-market with new industrial inkjet presses. And because Fiery Impress is the only DFE to fully integrate Esko Color Engine, manufacturers can offer presses that integrate into customers’ existing Esko workflows in a streamlined process.
Toby Weiss, CEO, Fiery, said: ‘Workflows are key to success for digital industrial printing, especially in complex, variable data-intensive applications like labels and packaging. Print providers need integrated, easy-to-use processes that deliver streamlined automation while maximizing both power and color quality. Thanks to the integration of Esko Color Engine with our award-winning Fiery Impress DFE, print businesses no longer have to choose between performance and color, and industrial inkjet press manufacturers can deliver new presses with not only faster time-to-market, but easy implementation into existing Esko print environments.’
Jan De Roeck, chief marketing officer, Esko, said: ‘Integrating Esko’s Color Engine with Fiery Impress DFE marks a significant step toward realizing our vision of accelerating time-to-market. By enabling end-to-end color management across the entire packaging workflow, we’re not just improving color consistency – we’re empowering converters and brand owners to drive efficiency, reduce waste, and deliver with confidence.’
Andreas Goehring, director, professional imaging, Epson America, added: ‘Industrial printing is a key growth area of digital print, particularly with applications like labels and packaging. This partnership between Fiery and Esko to integrate Esko Color Engine with the Fiery Impress DFE is a great development that not only delivers the color and performance results that make industrial print customers happy, but will also offer a more streamlined solution for industrial press manufacturers to offer innovative new presses to markets around the world.’
