GapControl permits a highly-precise, double-sided adaption of the gap, and thus the liner strike, for various applications and materials.

The wide range of materials and ever thinner liners make special demands on all die-cutting components, Wink said, with adjustable anvil rollers allowing a variable adaptation of the gap based on the respective requirements.

This means that the operator can manipulate the liner strike by correcting the cutting depth in both direction, whether it is too strong or not strong enough. Moreover, an adjustable anvil allows the use of multiple label materials with the same flexible die, and it can compensate the tooling’s wear to a certain degree.

In some applications problems arise with conventional adjustable systems, in particular with cutting-through, larger working widths and high production speeds. Wink said its GapControl adjustable anvil roller overcomes such issues as the operator can adapt the gap to his specific needs flexibly and accurately.
